May I offer a non-musical comment? Everyone needs to experience a
variety of positions in any endeavor. You will end up both a happier
and a more skilled person if you've seen your chosen endeavor from more
than one perspective.
Obviously we all wish you the best during the challenge, but please
don't overlook that being part of a team and supporting the group's
efforts is every bit as essential as being 'first'. And you'll have a
better understanding of what life is about if you spend at least some
time supporting a larger effort rather than leading it.
Frankly, there are a lot of people in this world (including
myself) who would be happy to hold down a third or fourth chair.
