Here I am tossing leaves into the wind, hoping they will
land somewhere useful...
Question: Does anyone have an idea what Band/Clarinet piece
this might be. Remember that it was "modern" repertoire.
in 1970, at Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington,
we competed in the "regionals" with a "Modern" piece,
that featured a "Kick A@-----. We brought in a
"name Clarinetist" for the competition. Later that year, we
repeated in Concert, with the Clarinet majors doing the honors, sort of...
it was very much beyond them. <<<It had the highest note I have
ever heard in Concert>>>
I have checked with the Music Department, it went out of business
for the rest of the 70's and 80's, nothing left. I checked with
the Library and Archives, "Musicals" were kept but apparently
not the band playbills. I definitely do not remember the pro's
name...thin guy, "artistic beard", "attitude"
...remember I was and am an Electrical Engineer, and was more con-
cerned about tomorrow's exam in Wave Theory than who that guy was...
Many thanks in advance!
