There are two Carmen suites, imaginatively entitled suite 1 and suite 2
respectively. There are 6 movements in each of the two suites <making a
total of 12>, although I guess you could say that the first suite really
only has five movements because the first two are attacca and are numbered 1
and 1a, even though they originate from the Preludes to different Acts of
the Opera - I and IV respectively. Hope this helps for whatever reason
prompted you to ask... Gavin.
