We tried instruments at the Buffet factory a couple of years ago. My son had
just chosen his Bb Greenline Prestige clarinet and as he attempted to swab
it through, the brand new swab got stuck in the middle of the clarinet in
the worse place and in the worst way possible. We couldn't get it out and it
took quite a while for the Buffet people using special tools to get it out!
Needless to say, since then, my son has been very careful when swabbing and
it has never happened again. One must use extreme caution with the brand new
swabs because they're still stiff and easily bunch up. He was just lucky
that we happened to be there at the factory when this happened because we
wouldn't have been able to get it out on our own.
