Tony, that is a real swab-sob-story.

When i was in high school, and lived far enough out of town that it was
difficult to get to the music store for supplies, one day the weight fell
off of the string of the pull thru swab and was lost.
The thing that finally worked -- I tied a knot in the end of the string,
and blew it thru the clarinet.
Started from the bell for two reasons, length, and easier target for air
puff.
The blow-gun swab string method worked so well i did that for a couple
of years.

I'll huff and i'll puff and i'll blew the string down. &;-)
