eBay will ban legal alcoholic beverages, but will let material
indicated as stolen on the Nightly News a free pass. Before
you ask, I will not disclose the items in question, that has
been passed on to the FBI. see below.

Subject: Re: Your irresponsible position viz. potential stolen Federal
Property (KMM22330861C0KM)

Hello Terry,

Thank you for writing eBay your concerns.

The sale of stolen property is strictly forbidden on eBay, and
violates
state, federal and international law. eBay strongly supports law
enforcement efforts to recover stolen property that is listed on its
web
site, and urges the prosecution of those responsible for knowingly
attempting to sell such items on eBay.

If you see an item on eBay that you believe is stolen, your best
course
is to contact law enforcement immediately. Under eBay's privacy rules,
our attorneys will provide important records about pending and past
auctions with an official request from law enforcement officials.
Please
inform the police officer handling the case that eBay will be pleased
to
cooperate in the investigation, and ask the officer to contact eBay at
the email address we've set aside for law enforcement organizations
(LEO): leo@-----. It is important that
these methods of contact be reserved for law enforcement use only, as
it
enables us to respond quickly in case of emergencies. Emails/faxes
directed to these areas that are not from law enforcement will be
routed
to the appropriate mailbox or individual accordingly and may cause
delays in response time.

One thing to keep in mind, eBay doesn't handle any merchandise, we are
only a venue. Additionally, since we do not handle any merchandise we
must rely upon the specific auction listing, in its entirety, to
determine whether or not the item is in compliance or violation of our
listing policies.

Since eBay does not possess or examine the items that are listed on
our
site, we are not in the best position to judge the legality or
authorized nature of the item for auction.

We truly appreciate your knowledge about these types of items,
however,
we often cannot remove items based on representations of third
parties.
The reason for this is because we can not independently verify the
credentials and accuracy of the information that is provided by third
parties. As a result of this, unless the item is, in our judgement,
plainly prohibited by law or by our own rules, we instead rely on help
from government agencies for an authoritative view on the legality of
a
particular auction.

As always, if you have a question or problem, please contact us and we
will gladly assist you. If you would like to report a questionable
item
please visit:

Thank you for using our site and good luck with your future
transactions
on eBay!

Regards,

Gabriel
