I've had several students who have had problems with the patch staying on
the mouthpiece but it has always been with the thick black patches. I just
tell them to get the thinner clear kind and they never have problems with
those staying on. I don't think it has anything to do with the kind of
mouthpiece one has but rather with the way one blows or with the saliva of
certain individuals. In any case, I've always had luck with the thinner
clear patches.
