I can't imagine why you feel that you must diminish the level of your
participation on the list. It's nicely refreshing to see some new names
and thoughts and questions pop up, and I think it would be unfortunate
if those new people were to back away and disappear. You're appreciated!

When you attach them, do you press on them -- over the entire surface --
to ensure that the adhesive is making full contact between the underside
of the patch and the top of the mouthpiece? When I affix a new mouthpiece
patch, I first attempt to "roll" it onto the surface of the beak in order
to avoid air bubles or pockets. Once the patch is on, I then grasp the
mouthpiece firmly and press down all over the surface of the patch with
my thumb, making sure that the adhesive makes contact with the mouth-
piece. I use my thumb as a sort of rolling pin, rocking it back & forth
over the surface of the patch, attempting to force out any air pockets.

I wonder if the Bay patches themselves are faulty or less effective
than other brands. I've been using Yamaha patches for at least a
decade and have never had the problem you describe. They do even-
tually wear out and need to be replaced, but that takes several months
per patch. I sincerely doubt the blanks Clark uses have anything at
all to do with your problem.
