Wouldn't normally mention this, but since mail is the subject here:

I recently did an experiment with my business students. As part of a lesson
in the power of the zip code, I mailed myself a signed check and had a
trusted student drop it in the local mail box on Wednesday morning.. The
only thing on the outside of the envelope was the postage stamp and my zip
code.

I assume that the envelope was not opened, that your name was not on the
outside of the envelope, and that ZIP codes are not specific to one
property...?

If that is the case, can you send some US postal people over to the Royal
Mail here in the UK (Or Consignia or whatever they want to be called
now....!) The number of items which I have seen get lost (or delayed) in the
post is unbelievable. Our family once received a letter from my mother which
had been posted on her holiday six years previously. Needless to say, she
arrived home before her letter did!
