....oooh, i almost hate to admit this, but i *was* one of those
telemarketers for a year and a half [i'm sorry, please forgive me!] the
hours were ok, the pay was pretty good and they were desperate for
employees. [i hated it]

I just wanted to point out that the policy is that we were *not* to talk
to answering machines [or answerphones], should we get one, hang up and
go to the next call. All a matter of numbers, i suppose. Also, we were
not to hang up before the customer hung up... so... i must say, i would
really have enjoyed some good clarinet music. [er... gut-wrenching
mistakes? ouch]

of course, i wasn't particularly *good* at telemarketing.... :)

just my two cents worth
