.....and the motive for my question to Walter: "Can you detect a
dimension difference between the wood & Delrin barrels that you made
recently" was really to ask:

"Have you made two barrels that, to the best of your abiity to
measure, have identical dimensions yet play differently, perhaps because
of the materials (plastic vs. wood) or the absence of rings?"

I guess that I didn't make that part of my question very clear.
