I was there in 1966, and I can`t remember much, other than the fact that I
came home healthy - surprisingly!
(before I was married, I hasten to add). I know that, because a colleague
didn`t - I accompanied him, after being asked to be supportive, to our local
clinic to be examined. They eventually sorted him with some medication.
We visited the New Territories to play a concert in a school, which got
temporarily held up whilst the local snake handler removed a cobra from one
of the classrooms.
And I think I visited the Floating Palace. Is that the place where you
choose what you want from a tank of live
sea food - fish/lobster/crab etc?
We also caught the wrong ferry boat back from the island to the mainland,
and witnessed the most appalling poverty and stench. I hope it`s not like
that anymore.
I still have some clothing, which reminds me of those hot and sweaty times -
I can`t fit into them, but I can dream - - - - -

(My connection has gone down - I don`t know when you`ll get this).
