Tonight's faculty concert was interesting because the husband and
wife team played a basset horn piece that appears on Roger Garrett's
Extended Clarinets! disc (I'm guessing that Roger plays the basset horn
on this disc?) except that they played it with a pair of A's --- namely,
Mendellsohn's Concertpiece for Two Clarinets op. 113.

It sounded good to me on a pair of A's. I suppose this shows that
good music is good music even when the instruments change over the
centuries.
