Bill, as a person who has made reeds for years, as well as using commercial
reeds, I prefer a reed where the "bark" is cut straight across, rather than
sanded in a "curve". I have found, again in my own experiences, that you can
usually get a clearer tone on the long tube notes, primarily B, and C, when
the reed is made this way.

However, this might just be a "nit". It's possible that the difference might
never be noticed by the listener.
