I'm no recording expert - If Ben Maas is still on-list I'm sure he's the
best person to try - but I would resist putting a mic directly below the
clarinet, i.e. blowing into it. At least for this kind of recording. I'd try
setting up your mic maybe 3-4 feet away from the clarinet, fairly low down
(maybe level with the bell) and have the piano a reasonable distance
(>10feet) away, assuming it is also miked up. If your church also has a
sound screen, I'd place this between clarinet & piano. But as I say, Ben may
have better ideas.
