Some of you might be interested in a recent CD recording I completed which
contains two works which were previously unavailable. The disc is entitled
"Contemplations."

Although the disc has five other works (which are geared towards middle and
high school students who are preparing for state contest/festival) the one
work, by Ronald Foster Contemplations for Solo Clarinet (1999), is a
well-written short contemporary work of 8 minutes. The other work is an
obscure work by composer L. Quet entitled Petite Piece, written for clarinet
& piano. The Quet was previously only available on LP record (which isn't
as old as some people will make it out to be).

At the site, I've listed information the Foster work and Mr. Foster himself,
as well as ordering information for the sheet music and the recording (mail
order and secure online purchasing). The piece is definitely not easy, but
has only a few 20th C. techniques (fluttertonguing, timbre trills). Some
fast articulation, as well; with range to a high B.

If you have information on the Quet, please contact me, since my searches
for information turned up nothing.

The other works on the CD include: Weber Concertino, Hindemith Sonate,
Poulenc Sonata, Lefebvre Fantasie-Caprice, and the Rossini Variations.

The disc is a good mix of rare and common works which is intended to help
students listen to more of the pieces which are available to them, and even
use the performances as a model for their performances. The disc also has
the world premiere recording of Ronald Foster's latest work.
