Perhaps you should think in terms of your local music community.
Join in with a local community band/orchestra, music club, church group,
amateur ensemble, or similar --- in hopes of meeting someone who will
guide you in learning or performing some of the basic repair tasks in
the spirit of friendship and mutual interests?
