....it did occur to me that the act of putting the cap back on the
tube creates an air pressure that forces the lanolin down into the tube.
As an experiment to solve this mighty mystery, I have put the cap on
(and off) a half-dozen times in succession during a period of 30
seconds, both gently and with force, and the lanolin does not move. It
stays at the top.
