Indeed, yes, although logically I should be happy to get rid of the
little beast...the source of so many years of anguish and frustration
(it's an Artley: say no more). Because of what playing the clarinet
means to me, I don't think I could ever part with my very first in-
strument (not to mention I would feel quite guilty subjecting somebody
to the same emotional torture I went through while trying to learn on
that mechanico-acoustical nightmare). I might, however, be tempted
to have it transformed into something that would allow it to give
me pleasure for the first time in its existence: a lamp.
