A new clarinet is like a new mouthpiece (or clothes). You should
not buy a clarinet on the strength of someone else's recommendation or
experiences or preference alone.

Your daughter should play a few clarinets (that meet your budget)
from different manufacturers and then she can tell you which one suits
her. Some will suit her and some won't.

There are big differences in clarinets besides durability and
quality of construction --- just like clothes.

Also consider a used clarinet in good condition. If not abused,
they last for decades.

Cheers,
Bill
