Terry,

Unfortunately, the variance in mass produced mouthpieces is often enough to
make different instances of one model if not "unplayable", simply poorly
playing for some people and others of the same model excellent for the same
player. Other players have a wider range of what is playble for them.
Certainly this is even true of the instruments themselves, at least from
some manufacturers, without substantial tweaking of register tubes, etc.
