Yes, well,

Not a plethora of replies on this one. I currently play 101104. When
it was chosen by my teacher in the late 1960s it was considered the best of
a lot of three that Martin Zweng had in his display cabinet.
I was recently engaged to select two A clarinets for the Edmonton Youth
Orchestra. The local music merchant had three to chose from. They were
Buffet Festival models. One was a Greenline.
The tuning on the Festivals was superior to that of my clarinet in 2 of
3 instances. One, not the Greenline was curiousely flat [low pitch].
101104 has an engaging singing quality not found in the Festivals. Its
pitch is stable and adequate. Mechanically, it has held up well. Its
plating is intact where many Buffet clarinets of recent times is worn.
Gary Armstrong in Toronto is largely responsible for the longevity of upper
joint pads; made from cork, work done 25 years ago.

So.... the clarinet you are looking to buy is probably better than most,
has a decent scale [eveness from one note to the next] and may be able to
sing if you give it a chance.
