Dear Forrest,
Do you have a particular clarinetist whose tone you like? If so,
try the mouthpiece that they use at a music store. I used a VANDOREN
5RV Lyre for a long time because it was recommended to me by David Weber
and Jon Manasse, and I prefer their French style of tone production. If
I wanted to sound like Mitchell Lurie, for instance, I would find out
what he played on and try it out. I recently tried out and purchased
Clark Fobes CF+ mouthpiece based on it's similarity to the VANDOREN 5RV
Lyre and the rave reviews. ANNIE
