That is what research is about! Have you checked the New Grove Dictionary
of Music and Musicians edited by Stanley Sadie. It should be in your school
music library, or the main library (if not, then that doesn't say much for
the school). Start there; each article includes a bibliography from which
you can identify other sources of information.

I'm doing research for my music theory class on a classical composer and got
lucky enough to get a composer w/ little information in all the
encyclopedias in the school. I have Johann Stamitz. All I have been able to
find so far is when he was born and died. 1717-1757. does anyone have any
vast knowledge of this composer that they could tell me? Or any good
webpages of composers and biographical information? I know he wrote a
clarinet concerto, I actually have a copy of it, but that's about the extent
of my knowledge.
