No, I never heard that one, but I did hear about the US premieres he played
of:

Bartok Miraculous Manderin
Shostakovich Symphony #9
Kodaly Dances of Galanta (He spent several hours under his hotel room
working out the solos)

He was a personal friend of Aaron Copland. He also knew people like Halsey
Stevens, Ingolf Dahl, Pierre Boulez... The list goes on.
