I agree completely. I thought his playing was wonderful, a special quality
to his sound, and graceful musicianship. Did he ever tell the story of
picking up the wrong keyed clarinet and playing in "unison" with the first
flute under Fritz Reiner I think. He said the flutist's hair stood on end.
I forgot the piece they were playing.
