Thank you to every body who suggested, and indeed attached one or two water
(tight) titles to me. I have now decided on Shenandoah and Row, Row your
Boat. So, <eventually> Sue and Bill will receive complementary copies. I
will stress that they will not be written for "educational" usage. That is
not my intention with <this> suite. I envisage a requirement of U.K. grade 7
or 8, with some improvisational abilities also. So you`d better get
practising Bill, hadn`t you!! Here`s a start, and my young pupils find this
method a piece of cake. Step 1) Make up your own little "tune" using only
the arpeggio of C major - anywhere - high or low. In 4/4 time, you may use
1/4 notes, 1/2 notes, whole, and you may even stop playing to re-configure
your brain, only for a moment tho`. Try to work logically in balanced two
bar phrases. Try to sound musical. Keep an even tempo - <count>. You must
<not> be a busy bee. Some phrases only use two notes. Lesson 2 next week -
remind me. $30 please.
Tony W.
