Dear Terry,
The first solo that I ever played back in 1958, 7th grade, was the
2nd movement of the Mozart (Adagio), K 622 for Bb clarinet and piano.
The piano was 1/4 tone flat, so It sounded terrible anyhow. At the time,
I think that Cundy Bettony was the publisher, and it cost $1.60 for the
arrangement. I know that they still sell the arrangement for Bb clarinet
& piano, because many students play it for solo & emsemble contests.
Many students never buy an A clarinet. (I use my A clarinet a lot to
play along on hillbilly tunes that my husband sings in terrible keys for
our duo, "RAMLIN ANNIE". I have not been invited to perform any concerti
on Bb or A with an orchestra but still have it memorized forever). I
have the arrangement somewhere & will send you the piano accompaniment
if you can't find it. It should be orderable someplace up there in the
NYC Metropolitan area. ANNIE
