Or for an even cheaper temporary fix, try paper. Just tear off a strip and
wrap around the cork. Remove paper after each use. (The trouble with
recorking is that your original barrel may not fit once your friend wants to
get his concerto barrel back).

A temporary fix is to buy a small reel of plumbers sealing tape (cheap,
white and very thin plastic tape). Wrap a little around the tenon. Very
useful in emergencies for all sorts of things!

A clarinet-player friend recently gave me a Leblanc Concerto barrel to use
with my Vito plastic student clarinet, telling me (and demonstrating to me)
that the instrument would have nicer sound. However, the Concerto barrel is

quite loose on the Vito. Is there any way to make it fit better without
actually replacing the tenon cork?
