Subj: [kl] Clarinet "aesthetic" question
Date: Sat, 13 Jan 2001 23:29:44 -0500

My used Vito student-model clarinet has been re-padded and otherwise
refurbished, but it still looks old. I've polished it endlessly with a
chamois, but it still retains fingerprints and doesn't brighten (physically,
not tone-wise). Is there a commercial cleaner or polish that is safe to use
on a plastic clarinet?

Also, I bought Silvo metal polish to clean up and polish the keys. What is
the best technique to use in order to polish the keys without ruining the
body of the instrument?

To the best of my knowledge none of this affects the way my instrument plays,
but I want it to look nice. Thanks in advance for any input!

Steph
