Subj: [kl] "Finding Forrester" - Strange String Instrument

Sorry for the off-topic post, but I've no luck identifying the violin-like,
bowed-string instrument with a horn-shaped resonator instead of an hourglass
soundbox with f-holes. The on-screen time consisted of only two very quick
cuts of a society orchestra. Can any one help? Never saw anything like it
before.
