Based on the positive responses here, I ordered two Legere's from Mr.
Grabner. I
received the 3 1/2 and 4 in time to harass my instructor. He was very
complimentary
about my improved tone and progress after 85 days of lessons. (I am a
re-start after
30+ years off). Then to his horror, he discovered that I was using a
"plastic reed."
After he decided that I was serious about not wishing to do woodcraft on
every
$2.50+ reed I bought, he decided that I was being rational, saving much $$$
in
reeds and reed-crafting paraphernalia. Besides, I sounded better.

We spent the rest of the session trying combinations of mouthpieces and
reeds and
settled on 3 1/2 on the VanDoren 5RVL13. I sent the 4 into Legere for the
exchange
for 3 1/2 and expect it soon.

I am sorry that Mr. Grabner is no longer selling Legere, but then again,
having
2 and seeing how long they will last, I can see were the repeat business
would
not be very brisk!

Thank you all for the response to my Legere reed special. I just wanted you
all to know that I am out of 3's, 3 1/2's, and 3 3/4's. I do have some 4's
left.

Although my admiration for the Legere reed is undiminished, I probably will
not carry them anymore. I'm going to stick more closely to the mouthpiece
biz, and branch out into barrels, and maybe a couple of other surprises!

On behalf of those who purchased Legere's from me, I will make a (small)
contribution to Sneezy on your behalf.
