I find the "IG Tennis" more useful than the music version, and shorter,
too! Thanks for posting the URL to Gallwey's site - it enabled me to buy
a copy of IGT, which has been out of print for a while.
Look for "A Soprano on her Head" by Eloise Ristaad(sp?). It has similarly
useful information.
Also, I just ordered (from Amazon) "Audition Success : An Olympic Sports
Psychologist Teaches
Performing Artists How to Win" by Don Greene. One of my orchestra
colleagues is reading the book and is very impressed by it. Another of my
new colleagues has actually worked with Don Greene, and found it helpful.
I'm looking forward to reading this, but have no first hand experience
yet.
There's also another newish book in this same vein, by a violinist. It
popped up as a book of the same type on the Amazon list while I was
shopping. Sorry to be so vague - anyone know what I'm talking about
(obviously I don't!), and whether it is worth exploring?
