A bass clarinet is tuned to Bb, just like an 'ordinary' Bb
clarinet, but an octave lower. You need a different reed, but the
fingering is the same except that many bass clarinets go down to Eb
instead of just to E-natural, so there's an extra key. If you look
carefully, you'll see other minor differences, such as the register key
opens two holes instead of one.
