Tightening rings

There is another way to tighten rings.
Instead of paper, envelop the bare wood with some plastic, (from a
sandwich bag or something like it)
Lower the ring onto the wood. Remember that wide part of ring goes
first.

If the ring is tight with the thickness of plastic, then just push the
ring down tightly on to the wood.
With a sharp knife or razor, snip off the extra plastic.
This I learned from a repairman here in Toronto.
