Klarinet Archive - Posting 000220.txt from 2001/01

I remember the quote differently than it has been stated in recent
posts to Klarinet, and have gotten the feeling that others have been
adapting it to fit musical puns. The quote as I remember it is:

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

Unfortunately, I too do not remember the author. Maybe, much like
so many Christmas tunes, the author is that ubiquitous writer and
composer who charitably never collects royalties for his remarkably
catchy tunes & phrases: "Traditional."
