I would not use epoxy, but here is a suggestion....

I would be tempted to paint the inside of the ring with
a thin coat of clear nail polish. I've done this with this
the inner rim of loose barrels, works great, tightening
it up on the cork. Don't see why it should not work
on the ring equally well.

I'm not a clarinet repair technician, but picked
this up off a teacher,

Does anyone have concerns about this technique?

It works, and it cleans up easy enough.
