Very sorry about what happened to you! The sense of frustration and
violation is profound when someone steals a musical instrument. I had this
happen once. Since then, I would never leave anything relatively
irreplaceable in my car or the trunk of my car. I also have noted the
resemblance of a clarinet case to a laptop case...or at least it's close
enough to tempt someone. Usually the thief has no idea what it is worth and
may even throw the instruments away when they realize they haven't stolen a
computer! I also have instruments and cameras insured under a special
personal articles policy. This wouldn't help replace the irreplaceable
prized instrument though, but it does ease the pain.

I am playing on two Rossi's now and would be devastated if they were
stolen. When on a plane I keep them in my lap or under my seat as close to
me as possible at all times.
