Regarding the question that Diane Karius poses. I live in a place in West
Wales called Llanelli, in the U.K. last summer our town band dispanded, not
enough people were attending. We ended up with 5 clarinet players and very few
other instruments, even though the music was interchangable (transposing
wise) the sound was all wrong. The area in which I live has a strong
tradition of brass bands.Poor on the woodwind though. One of the problems
here is trying to get adults interested. Thankfully I have a good teacher and
the range of music played is very varied. At the moment I am trying to get as
much information on Anton Stadler as I can, histoy, music written etc. Great
being able to "talk" with other clarinet players all over the world.
