Bill, were you a pain in the *** in mandatory chorus?!?! ;-) Or, are
you that rarest of voice types (like me) - the monotone?

I was dismissed entirely for lack of vocal ability. My parents
received a personal apology from the chorus teacher, but she just
couldn't stand my voice. My Mom replied (I _do_ remember the incident,
it was a major trauma for me) that I must have inherited it from my Dad
because she sang in a Broadway chorus when she was young. Actually he
had a resonant speaking voice, but he couldn't sing either.
I don't think that I'm a monotone. I hunt up and down as I try to
find each note while singing, and by the time I find it, everyone else
has moved on to the next note.
Usually I hear when I'm playing out of tune, and my teacher has
commented that I adjust my intonation pretty well when I'm playing a
duet. But I can't match pitches with my voice.

....enough of true confessions for tonight....

Cheers,
Bill
