Subj: [kl] Reginald Kell -- Mozart Concerto reissue
Date: Sun, 31 Dec 2000 11:17:52 -0500

Reginald Kell's first recording of the Mozart Concerto, with Malcolm Sargent
and the London Symphony, has been reissued on CD as Testament SBT 1007. It
also has the Mozart Trio with Frederick Riddle and Louis Kentner and the
Mozart Quintet with the Philharmonia Quartet, all from 78s of about the same
era. I'm pretty sure the CD is still available. I saw it at Tower in New
York about a month ago.

Kell's second recording of the Mozart Concerto, with the Zimbler Sinfonietta,
was issued on American Decca as a 10" LP, DL 7500, and also as a 12" LP, DL
9732, coupled with a wonderful Brahms Trio with Frank Miller (a great
musician most people never heard of) and Mieczyslaw Horszowski. As far as I
know, neither recording has been reissued on CD.

Best regards.

Ken Shaw
