Klarinet Archive - Posting 001384.txt from 2000/12
From: Bilwright@-----.net (William Wright) Subj: [kl] Performer and composer Date: Sat, 30 Dec 2000 16:51:19 -0500
Many composers have written pieces for a particular performer.
This must alter the performer's obligation --- depending on what you
think the obligation was before the personal relationship sprang to
life.
Have you noticed how badly the scripts of X-Files have deteriorated
(IMO) since Mulder dropped out? I presume that the same person or team
is still writing the scripts, but OH! the dumb and stupid things they
write now for a different actor.
As with any other human interaction, I suppose the responsibilities
of the performer or conductor to the composer cannot be encapsulated in
a single paragraph.
