Wristwatch..... Bless you!

The music store where I take lessons insists on hanging a battery
powered clock on the wall that is 10" or so in diameter. It makes a
soft but audible <tick> <tock> which, of course, is exactly 60 bpm. So
if my teacher sets the metronome to 63 or 66, I go *NUTS!*
When I first started taking lessons, I climbed up on my chair and
tried to take the clock down. It was nailed tight to the wall. I
decided I would try to cope, but happily my teacher said, "You now what?
I've felt that something was wrong here for a long time, but you're the
first student to show me exactly what it was." So she marched out to
the front showroom, borrowed a hammer, and ripped it loose.
Now every week, the clock is back up on the wall (I suppose this
means that most people can ignore it, but I can't). So it's a weekly
ceremony that the two of us have: Taking The Darned Clock Down.

Cheers,
Bill
