For the last time, I hope, let us simplify:

Not all anti-semites were Nazis. But the actual practice of the Nazi
movement was anti- anyone who was not a Nazi supporter. No person who
failed to oppose them is any less blameless PRECISELY because any person
who knew and did not act abetted the crime and has no valid claim of
innocence.

The same holds true for Protestant and Catholic Irish; for ethnic
Serbians, for Hutus and Tutsis and the Vietnamese who persecuted the Hmong.

By the way, I'm not a professor, though I do teach from time to time. I'm
a practicing attorney.
