No problem with the public message. I don't know if I would have had the
courage to buck the system in Nazi Germany. I know that I am glad some did.
As for me, I've always been somewhat suspect of the prevailing point of view
on things, someone who tends to go against the crowd.

Incidentally, you might get something out of a book called "Hitler's
Willing Executioners." It seems that most ordinary Germans were more than
willing to participate in the holocaust, and many were aware of what was
going on all the time. Not sure what this does to the semantics of it.
