I had never thought about that possibility. In fact, I assumed
that the cost of refacing a mouthpiece is approximately the same as
buying a new one? The only advantage would be that, if a person knew
what he or she wanted (which I don't have sufficient experience to know
yet), then the person would get they wanted.

After 10 more seconds of thought, since the baffle, etc. wouldn't
change, I'm curious what a refacing would achieve? More or less
resistance? Or something else? You may remember that I abandoned
these mouthpieces because they were too prone to squeaking and they were
(to my teacher's and to my own ears) too heavily loaded with higher
partials.
