Ken did a wonderful job of describing the Mazzeo system, with one
exception--you *can* play the regular throat Bb while the system is in
place. It sounds stuffy and sharp, just like everybody else's. There's
really no reason to want to play it that way, unless something happens to
the alternate keys.

I've played a Mazzeo system since a beginner--then stepped up to a
professional model before college. The only drawback to me is that,
while I would love to have a new clarinet, I can't get one with the
system I know so well.
