Roger's return to this subject gives me an irresistable urge to put in my 2
cents worth.
With about the same level of amusement, but true, I offer a short
description of an experiment performed on a little island in the Caribbean
in the 1940s.

I have a tenured colleague who is an over-aggressive male so I'll have to
put up with him at least until I retire. Recalling this study from earlier
readings, I looked it up again in "African Genesis" and put it on a Web
page for my Science and Technology students when we talk about genetics,
the Human Genome Initiative, overbearing 1st clarinetists, conductors and
some incorrigible intellectuals.

Interested people can find it at

I particularly like the quote, "The rhesus monkey falls somewhere between
the baboon and the howler," which always offers me an amusing
rationalization for the behavior of my colleague when I need it.

Oliver
