There are two instances which leap to my mind where using the
"sliver" key is pretty awkward - near the beginnings of the Brahms F minor
and the Bax sonatas. NO doubt other list members could think of many
more.
Isn't the "middle finger" fingering a much better note on instruments
with Mueller-derived fingering?
