It's a discussion, and I recommend that you read Bateson and not me
before going on with 'grace'. Nevertheless, I agree with a lot of what
you've written.

The only thing is, when you say, 'If you had a hand in forging
consensus' -- who is this 'you', and with whom are you forging
consensus? What if there were no audience?

And when you say,

...which bit of you counts as the 'performer' -- the conscious part, or
the unconscious part?
